Behind the book
I'm Nicole Schwab — Nicky Welsh is my pen name.
My dad was Welsh and my mum is German; I grew up between Newport in South Wales and Stuttgart in southern Germany. Today I live with my family in the Remstal. Wales never really let go of me — it's part of why I write as Nicky Welsh, and why Tattoo Tales draws on legend, longing, and the language of ink.
